Wedding Day Music & MC Plan
If you decide to hire a wedding coordinator, they may help you plan your entire wedding day. We will coordinate with your wedding coordinator to ensure your wedding day runs according to your vision.
If you choose not to hire a wedding coordinator, no problem. When you book with us, we will meet in person before the wedding. We will help you create your wedding reception timeline, song preferences, coordinate special moments, and discuss logistics and venue details.
1. Pre-Ceremony (15-30 minutes)
Music: Light, instrumental, or acoustic background music to set a welcoming atmosphere as guests arrive.
My Role: I’ll ensure smooth, continuous music and keep everything on schedule, making any necessary announcements (such as where to sit or any logistical information).
2. Ceremony (30-45 minutes)
Music: Specific songs for the bridal party entrance, bride’s processional, and recessional.
My Role: I’ll set up a speaker and cue up the exact tracks as planned, timed perfectly with your walk down the aisle. I’ll also handle microphone setup for the officiant and for you to give your wedding vows.
3. Cocktail Hour (45-60 minutes)
Music: Light, upbeat background music—either instrumental or a genre of your choice (jazz, acoustic, or even a special playlist based on your tastes).
My Role: This is a perfect time to take your wedding photos or greet guests. I’ll play music that maintains a relaxed and fun vibe, keeping the energy light while guests mingle. I’ll make announcements if needed, such as directing people to the next part of the event.
4. Reception Grand Introduction (5-10minutes)
Music: High-energy entrance songs for the wedding party and the newlyweds.
My Role: As your MC, I’ll introduce the wedding party with energy and enthusiasm, building excitement for your grand entrance.
5. First Dance (3-5 minutes)
Music: Select a special song for you and your spouse to dance to.
My Role: I’ll announce your first dance as husband and wife and ensure the music starts right on cue for this special moments.
6. Dinner (60-90 minutes)
Music: Low-key music during the meal—typically soft, classic, or love songs.
My Role: I’ll coordinate with catering for meal timing, announce important moments like the toasts, and help facilitate the dinner smoothly, keeping things on schedule without rushing.
7. Special Dances (10-15 minutes)
Music: Father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, and any other special moments.
My Role: I’ll announce each dance and ensure the music starts right on cue for these emotional moments.
8. Open Dance Floor (2-3 hours)
Music: I’ll start with music for all ages, gradually building up to higher-energy tracks for the younger crowd. This can include classic hits, 90s throwbacks, and current party favorites.
My Role: I’ll read the crowd, keep the dance floor packed, and ensure everyone has a great time. I’ll switch genres as needed to keep things fresh, using smooth transitions to keep the vibe going.
9. Cake Cutting & Bouquet/Garter Toss (15-20 minutes)
Music: Fun, upbeat music for these moments, potentially with specific song choices for the bouquet and garter toss.
My Role: I’ll announce the cake cutting and tosses, engaging the crowd and making sure everyone knows what’s happening.
10. Final Song and Send-off (10 minutes)
Music: A special song for your last dance or exit, whether it’s romantic or celebratory.
My Role: I’ll coordinate the timing of your send-off, playing the final song and making any closing announcements to ensure the evening ends on a high note.
This is a guide to help you organize your wedding reception. You may add or remove formalities to customize your event. If you don't plan to hire a wedding coordinator, we got you covered. My assistant and I will manage the flow of the wedding reception to ensure that everything runs smoothly according to the timeline. We look forward to working with you to plan your special day.
